World of Work Careers Event at SJHS: January 30th, 2020

Dear Pupils and Parents,

In partnership with Careers Wales, it gives us great pleasure to advertise our annual St Joseph's RC High School Careers Fair. This event is designed for Year 9-13 pupils and will take place in the main hall on Thursday, January 30th 2020. 

The programme for the day is:

9am-10am 10am-11am 11.20am-12.20pm 12.20pm-1.20pm
Year 10 Year 9 Year 11 Sixth Form



Parents are also invited to the event either when their children are enjoying contact with employers or during the year 12/13 session.

University and Apprenticeship Fair, March 2020

Careers Wales would like to invite your Year 10, 11 and 6th Form pupils and parents to next year’s popular ‘Apprenticeships Work’ career fair.

Taking place at Cardiff City Hall on Friday 6th March 2020 from 10am to 6pm and open to High Schools in Cardiff, Vale of Glamorgan and now Bridgend, RCT, Merthyr, Caerphilly and Newport too. Parents are welcome to attend from 2:30pm. There will be ‘Introduction to Apprenticeships’ presentations on arrival to prepare pupils for their visit, sector-specific workshops taking place in break-out rooms throughout the day and Apprenticeship Discussion Panels for schools in the day and parents in the afternoon.

  • This will be the fourth year we’ve held the event, with 60+ employers attending with Apprenticeships at all levels.
  • Pupils leaving school will be able to meet employers with live Apprenticeship opportunities with September 2020 start dates.
  • Pupils remaining in school will be able to gather information on Apprenticeships and Higher/Degree Level Apprenticeships from local employers.
  • Current Apprentices from a huge range of sectors will be present for pupils to meet.
