Estyn Report 2026
The school’s most recent Estyn inspection took place in March 2026.
The reports were published in May 2026.
We are delighted that both reports reflect the commitment and successes of the whole school community, its Catholic ethos and the flourishing of our pupils. All judgments across all categories were good.
The Estyn report summary states:
"St Joseph’s Roman Catholic High School provides a caring and supportive environment where many pupils, including those with Additional Learning Needs (ALN), develop their knowledge and confidence well. Positive working relationships between staff and pupils are a strong feature of the school. In most lessons, teachers know their pupils well and create calm and purposeful learning environments where pupils feel respected and willing to take part in learning."

Section 50 Report 2018
The school’s most recent Archdiocese Section 50 inspection took place in March 2018.
The report was published in May 2018.
The Section 50 Archdiocesan inspection summary notes that the school:
"Provides an excellent Catholic education' through 'clear, focused leadership’ and ‘consistently good teaching with excellent features.' The inspectors found that pupils are 'extremely proud of their school and its Catholic identity’ and that ‘pastoral care is an outstanding feature of the school."
Both reports note the high quality of relationships within and outside the school as a strength, which contributes to the continued success of the pupils and the school community.
