About Us

St Joseph's is an English Medium, Catholic Voluntary Aided School for girls and boys aged 11-18 years in the Archiocese of Cardiff. It was established to provide secondary education for the Catholic population of Newport, Caldicot and Chepstow. Since then it has flourished with over 1400 students on roll, including 300 students in the Sixth Form.

The school is sited in a new building completed in September 2004, that incorporates many exciting features including interactive technology being available in all classrooms, purpose-built suites for Science, Technology, Computer Science, Drama, Art and Music as well as a well resourced library, Sixth Form study area and a Sixth Form social area.

Our school has a sustained record of excellent performances in examinations. This outstanding achievement has been recognised by Welsh Government and Estyn in our last Inspection (2018).
